The Land of Nou

The Land of Nou is a place within the Dreaming populated by children and magical creatures. Here children can forget the problems and fears of the real world to explore and play to their hearts' content. There is a secret doorway in every normal dream that leads to Nou, if only the dreamer can locate it.

Dreamers enter Nou from all different time periods, from all different walks of life, leaving behind all sorts of conflicts. Dreamers come from many different cultures. But while they speak different languages in the real world, the magic of Nou allows them all to understand one another.

The native inhabitants of Nou are living stuffed animals known as Nouminals, which fulfill a variety of different roles throughout the world such as the keepers that maintain the city and tend to the grounds; the heralds which serve as travelling messengers and storytellers; the traders which peddle various wares; and the guardians that protect various sites across the world.

Then there are the companions, special Nouminals which interact most directly with the dreamers, showing them the lay of the land, and assisting them in having the best possible time during their stay in Nou.
